Heinlein Society to Participate in Popular Culture and American Culture Associations Conference FEBRUARY 22, 2004— The Popular Culture and American Culture Associations (a collection of academics and others) are holding their 25th Anniversary Celebration (and annual meeting) in San Antonio, Texas, on April 7 - 10, 2004, at the San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter, 101 Bowie Street, San Antonio, TX 78205. See: http://www.h-net.org/~swpca/ There was a call for papers and participants, including a call from an academic named Lisa Edmonds for Heinlein papers. Several Heinlein Society members responded and will participate. April 7 through 10 includes the Easter weekend. Registration is closed unfortunately, so it's unknown whether any arrangements can be made to hear the presentation of papers scheduled. Thanks to Drs. Gorsch, James, Davidoff, and Messrs. Dula, Patterson, and Linaweaver, our members, as well as Ms. Edmonds and the other participating academics. Captain Herb Gilliland, USNR, Rtd, Professor of English at Annapolis, one of the Heinlein Award judges, will also be present at the roundtable on the Saturday of the conference to be moderated by Dr. Davidoff. He offered to present a Heinlein paper as well, but since he had prepared and was already scheduled by PCA to present a paper on another topic, he was precluded by the rules of the PCA to present both.
