Heinlein Society
Blood Drive at Minicon, March 26, 2005
A
successful blood drive, sponsored by the Heinlein Society was held at
Minicon 40, the Sheraton Bloomington South (formerly the Radisson South), 7800
Normandale Boulevard, Bloomington, MN 55439. The blood drive was held on
Saturday, March 26th, Noon-4pm at the convention site. Heinlein Society blood
drive chairman Mike Sheffield reported that Minnesotans signing up in advance
for the drive far exceeded the average THS-sponsored event, and appreciates
Minnesotans willingness to participate in this worthy effort to save lives.
Twenty-five
people donated successfully, with the willingness to contribute by about five
more honorably noted. Thanks to all donors and attempted donors! Donors received
the pin designed by Robert Heinlein, a ribbon for their con badges, and a
'goodie bag' of three science fiction novels--two hardcover, one
paperback--donated by
DreamHaven Books.
